Static Roots Festival – stay safe sessions – episode 001
Leeroy Stagger – Carol
We have invited artists to provide a video of one of their songs for our “stay safe sessions” (read more here)
When we received Leeroy Stagger’s video contribution, we instantly knew this song had to be released first. It’s the song that started it all:
“Carol” is a song that has a very special meaning to us. We fell in love with this song and the album “Depression River” in the summer of 2007, and invited this young Canadian fellow, Leeroy Stagger, to come over to Germany and play the first ever house concert at our place – which Leeroy did back in November 2007.
This song got us started with the promotion of shows in our living room. The resulting house concert series at “Raumfahrtzentrum Saarner Kuppe” (“one of Germany’s most successful house concert series”, Folker magazine) got us into founding the Static Roots Festival. After about 90 house shows in a dozen years and after four successful Static Roots Festivals, we have now set up the “stay safe session” series. No other song would be more suitable than this brilliant piece of Canadicana music.
We put together the “stay safe sessions” series not only to present great music and amazing talents, but also to support the musicians during these difficult times. If you would like to support Leeroy Stagger, please PayPal to:
