Rowan @ Static Roots Festival 2023

Rowan

Welcome Rowan to the Static Roots Festival 2023

The Static Roots Festival is renowned for also showcasing some of the best in emerging talent, and this year, the festival is proud to announce the latest addition to the lineup: Rowan from Cork, Ireland. This young band is making waves in the indie folk scene, with comparisons being drawn to some of the biggest names in the genre, including The Strokes, Arcade Fire, and Bombay Bicycle Club.

Rowan consists of three talented musicians: Dylan Howe on guitar and vocals, Fionn Hennessy-Hayes on drums, and Kevin Herron on guitar, too. Together, they create a unique sound that blends elements of indie rock, alternative, and folk. Their energetic and upbeat music has earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting new bands in Ireland.

These last few years, the band worked hard to perfect their craft. They've honed their live performance skills, and their high-energy shows are always a hit with audiences. They released their first EP, "Breaking Down the Walls," in late 2021 and quickly garnered critical acclaim, with many praising the band's ability to deliver memorable hooks and thought-provoking lyrics.

Rowan - Does it make you happy?

The pandemic helped the band focus on what they really wanted to do, which was to take their music more seriously and make Rowan their main priority. The band released two EPs, "No One is Safe Here" and "Everybody Talks," which have helped them build a following and set the stage for their debut album "Does It Make You Happy?"

The album is described as a record about how one affects the world and how the world affects them, and is said to be full of shared anger, frustration, and a desire for change, reflecting the heavy times that everyone has gone through during the pandemic. The album is said to be an outpouring of emotion and a reflection of the band's own self-growth, with songs that address issues such as mental health, self-confidence, and societal issues. The band's music is described as powerful and impactful.

Rowan's addition to the Static Roots Festival lineup is a testament to their growing popularity. The festival, which will be held on July 7th & 8th 2023, is the perfect platform for the band to reach a wider audience and showcase their talents to an appreciative crowd of music lovers.

Rowan playing in memory of the late Willie Meighan

At the Static Roots Festival, we pay tribute to the person who inspired us and left a lasting impact not only on the world of music but to everyone who got to know him. This year, we are honored to announce that Rowan will be playing in memory of the late Willie Meighan, a beloved mentor and friend of the Static Roots Festival. Willie was the head of Rollercoaster Records in Kilkenny, Ireland, and his influence on the festival and the music community will always be remembered. We are sure that Rowan's performance will be a fitting tribute to Willie's legacy.

We can't wait to see Rowan take the stage and light up the festival with their electrifying sound. Make sure you don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to see one of the hottest new bands in Ireland live and in person.
