The Static Roots Festival boasts a rich history of memorable moments and unexpected collaborations that shape its unique spirit. One such story began in 2017 with the German band "Torpus & The Art Directors" Days before their performance, their guitarist, Melf Petersen, couldn't join. This unexpected turn, however, paved the way for a future collaboration.
Fast forward a few years, and Melf Petersen, now creating art under the moniker "Pelf Metersen" has captivated us with his stunning minimalistic art. The depth of his talent, evident in his choice of colors, atmospheric compositions, and engaging representations, resonated with our vision for the Static Roots Festival. It was only a matter of time before our paths crossed once more.
We're thrilled to announce our collaboration with Pelf Metersen for a series of postcard artworks that celebrate the destinations explored during the Static Ruhr Tour. These aren't just postcards; they're windows to the soul of the Ruhr Valley, capturing the essence of each location with breathtaking minimalism and style.
These exclusive postcards will be available for purchase through our Bandcamp shop and at our merchandise stall during the festival. In keeping with the spirit of the Static Roots Festival, all proceeds from the sale of these postcards will directly support Doctors Without Borders/Ärzte ohne Grenzen. This initiative allows us to support not only a brilliant designer but also the vital humanitarian work carried out by MSF.
The Static Roots Festival has always been more than just a music festival; it's a community of artists, musicians, and supporters united by a love for culture and a commitment to making a difference. This collaboration with Pelf Metersen epitomizes our ethos, blending art, music, and philanthropy in a way that enriches our festival and supports a noble cause.
We invite you to join us in this exciting new chapter of the Static Roots Festival. By purchasing these postcards, you're not only taking home a piece of art but also contributing to a global effort to aid those in need. Let's continue to celebrate the beauty of art and music while making a positive impact on the world around us.
