A Bond Forged in 2022

Our connection with the Vandoliers runs deep. We have to rewind to 2022. Coming out of the void of the pandemic, after a sold-out year in 2019, we faced a harsh reality. We were back at square one, struggling to get people back into concert halls. Attendance numbers had dropped back to where we started in 2016. It was a scary, uncertain time for the festival.

But then the Vandoliers took the stage.

They didn't care how many people were in the room. They played with a ferocity and joy that filled every empty corner of the venue. They played as if they were headlining a stadium, giving absolutely everything they had. That night, they didn't just play a gig; they reignited the spark of the Static Roots Festival. They proved that the magic wasn't about the numbers - it was about the music and the connection. Bringing them back for our 10th Anniversary feels like coming full circle.

Authenticity and The Power of "Jenni Rose"

At Static Roots, our motto is "roots music to feed your soul". And we can’t think of a better example of soul-feeding authenticity than the journey of frontwoman Jenni Rose.

Since coming out as a trans woman in 2025, Jenni has transformed not just her own life, but the spirit of the band. The anger and hiding of the past have been replaced by a triumphant, radiant joy. Watching Jenni own the stage as her true self is a powerful reminder of what this music is really about: freedom, community, and the courage to be who you are. The band has rallied around her with fierce love, and that unity translates into a live show that is more electric and emotional than ever before.
