The festival is over, but the weekend keeps travelling. Over the past weeks, three radio shows have carried Static Roots 2026 out to listeners far beyond Oberhausen, and each one is hosted by a friend who was in the room with us.
Blue Rose Radio Show, with Edgar Heckmann
Edgar Heckmann has loved this music longer than most of us. Blue Rose Records, the label he co-founded in 1995, was one of the houses that first brought Americana and Roots to German ears, and he has been putting our artists on the air all year. In the July edition of his Blue Rose Radio Show he turned to Static Roots and said it warmly: „Ein ganz wunderbares Festival, immer eine Reise wert!" (a truly wonderful festival, always worth the journey).

Tell The Band To Go Home, with Jeff Robson
If you have been to Static Roots, you know Jeff Robson. He is the voice from our stage, the man who carries the weekend from one act to the next, and he is family. On his own podcast, Tell The Band To Go Home, he gave the festival something rare: three hours of Static Roots history, the stories, the goosebumps moments, ten years told from the inside.
He followed it with a shorter look back at the 2026 edition, and put it as simply as it can be put: "it's a life-affirming festival."

Mike Ritchie on Sunday, on Celtic Music Radio
Mike Ritchie has been making the trip to Oberhausen for years. This was his fifth visit, and on his show Mike Ritchie on Sunday, broadcast on Celtic Music Radio in Glasgow, he brought the weekend home to his listeners with real warmth: "Simply outstanding. It was rather, rather special."
Three shows, three friends, one weekend that refuses to fade. Our thanks to Edgar, Jeff and Mike for carrying Static Roots into so many living rooms and headphones. This is what community sounds like.
