Static Roots 2026 · Getting There
The Way to Werden
How to reach the Welcome Night at the JuBB, Essen-Werden · Thursday 9 July
The night before the festival proper, we gather a few kilometres south of Oberhausen, in the old town of Essen-Werden, for the Welcome Night at the JuBB. It is the quiet opening of the weekend. The Southern Fold mark the release of their new album Beneath The Blaze Of The Burning Sun, and the Lincoln Skins open the evening.
The room is sold out, so this is less an invitation than a set of directions, written for the friends who already hold a ticket. Werden sits on the Ruhr, all cobbles and old stone and low evening light, and reaching it is a small pleasure rather than a chore. Here is how to come to us, and how to get home again afterwards.
First, the destination
Wherever you set off from, you are aiming for one place: Werden S-Bahnhof. From the platform it is a seven-minute walk through the old town to the JuBB, Jugend- und Bürgerzentrum Werden, Wesselswerth 10. Doors open at 18:30.

Back to Oberhausen after the show
From Werden, take the S6 to Essen Hbf (every 30 minutes), then the S3 toward Oberhausen.
Around 45 minutes
The last easy ride back leaves around midnight. Stay later than that and Oberhausen is still within reach, just a little more of an adventure, so keep half an eye on the clock, or find one of us and we will help you sort the way home.
Plan your ride home →One ticket covers the whole chain. Buy through the DB Navigator app or at bahn.com, and a single fare will price your journey correctly, the airport legs included. If you are staying several days and roaming the region, the Deutschlandticket can work out cheaper, so it is worth a quick check against your plans before you buy.
Arriving by car
If you are driving in, a word about the last hundred metres. The JuBB sits on a narrow old street, so do not aim for the door. You will only have to turn around and go looking again. Leave the car a little further out and walk the rest, which in Werden is half the pleasure anyway.
Im Löwental
The dependable choice
A proper parking area on the edge of the old town. Leave the car here, and the walk in takes you straight through Werden.

Small, and a little closer
A very small lot nearer the venue. Worth a look if you arrive early, though we would not count on a space on the night.

We will see you on the cobbles.
Peace, love, rock'n'roll
