The Goat Roper Rodeo Band – High Heel Blues – episode #008

The Goat Roper Rodeo Band - High Heel Blues

Static Roots Festival - stay safe sessions - episode #008

Here comes the sun

Seeing a live show of The Goat Roper Rodeo Band is a life affirming experience. The three piece band from Rhuddlan, North Wales, UK, brands their own music as “Cosmic Country Blues”. The brothers Jim (guitar) and Tom Davies (bass), and Sam Roberts (guitar) are the real deal.

About The Goat Roper Rodeo Band:

“With just an upright bass, two old guitars and a bucketful of aching harmony, THE GOAT ROPER RODEO BAND are preaching ‘Country Blues’ like you never heard… It’s up, it’s down, it’s soft and loud, it’s dark and lonesome too, there’s hurt and shame and some mean old pain but there’s love in what they do! There’s a hint of Gram, a sniff of Dylan and a twist of Waylon’s blues … Simply put, it’s exactly what it says on the tin.”

For our “stay safe sessions” series, The Goat Roper Rodeo Band contributed the song “High Heel Blues” from their 2019 album release “Tall Grass”, a great dynamic song with some amazingly performed three-part harmonies.

We put together the “stay safe sessions” series not only to present great music and amazing talents, but also to support the musicians during these difficult times.
