At the Static Ruhr Tour 2020 we will take you to Zeche Zollverein in Essen, a former coal mine and now a UNESCO world cultural heritage site - one of the most popular spots in the Ruhr valley.
The skeletal remains of the once flourishing mines and its coking plant watch over fresh construction: a housing project taking over part of the former plant. The coal washing complex is now the site of the Ruhr museum. Zeche Zollverein also houses the famous Red Dot Design Museum.
Some of you might remember our first Static Ruhr Tour 2018 when we did a quick trip over to Zeche Zollverein after visiting the mine slagheap "Rheinelbe". This year we will take the time for a guide and the proper Zollverein experience.
