The Hello Darlins - Canada's most in-demand session musicians
The Static Roots Festival is proud to announce that The Hello Darlins have been added to the lineup for this year's festival. The Canadian band, known for their unique blend of country, rock, and blues music, will be performing at the festival in July 2023. This year's festival promises to be another exciting one, with a fantastic lineup of talented artists from around the world.
The Hello Darlins - In The Sundust - new EP
The Hello Darlins are set to release their latest EP, "In The Sundust," in early 2023. The EP was recorded in part at L.A.'s famed United Recording Studios with multiple Grammy-winning engineer Ross Hogarth, and mixed by multi-Grammy award-winning engineer Mike Poole. The rhythm section for the sessions consisted of A-listers Bob Glaub on bass and drummer Chad Cromwell. The EP is a sample of the first of a collection of new songs that The Hello Darlins have been working on.
The Hello Darlins - Better Days - new single
The first single from the EP, "Better Days," has just been released and it features country-soul artist Dave Fenley. The track offers the first taste of the band's new material, with a slow-burning soulful ballad that showcases the band's skills at arrangements, classic instrumentation, and unmistakable background vocals.
According to vocalist/lyricist Candace Lacina, the message of "Better Days" is about finding hope while enduring challenging times. "It's about trusting the sunlight will eventually return after the storm," she says. "We haven't changed as people or artists, but our hearts have grown so much in the past year. That's where music really mattered and carried us through."
Keyboardist/co-producer Mike Little adds that the new music was written over a month at the start of 2022, with Candace writing about 32 songs in the first 2 weeks of the year. "We ended up recording two albums worth of material," he says. Some of the songs are reminiscent of their previous album, "Go By Feel," while others have a bit more of an edge.
The Hello Darlins are excited to bring their new material to the Static Roots Festival in 2023, and their live shows are not to be missed. With well over one million streams and three Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations generated by "Go By Feel," it's safe to say there's a lot of anticipation for more music from this supergroup.
Don't miss your chance to see The Hello Darlins and other talented artists at this year's Static Roots Festival!
